Lyrically the song is about an incident I (Jacque here 🙋‍♀️) had surfing in Daytona Beach, Florida. I got caught in a dangerous current and it took all of my might to get back to shore. I had a series of poems about that day, so when we started writing Shatter I reimagined those lines through the lens of a fractured love story
