Keep Me In Your Sight

Exclusively on Bandcamp Now

Synth-pop duo Ryal released their new song, “Keep Me in Your Sight,” a heartfelt tribute to Lawrence “Larry” Waxman—a beloved teacher, director, and friend who passed away from Alzheimer’s two years ago.

For one month, the track will be available exclusively on Bandcamp, with all proceeds benefiting the Larry Waxman Art Changes Life (LWACL) Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to an arts student at South Side High School, where Waxman spent years inspiring and mentoring young artists.

"Larry Waxman changed lives through the arts," says Jacque Ryal, one half of the duo. "I had the incredible opportunity to spend nearly a decade collaborating with him on a musical adaptation of Pedro Calderón’s Life Is a Dream. In the midst of our work, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. We continued despite his illness, and together, we created a draft of the show we were both deeply proud of. Larry was more than a collaborator—he was a father figure and a dear friend."

The song’s lyrics were co-written with pop singer-songwriter Veronika Jokel. "I needed a friend to help me through this song lyrically," Jacque shares. "I needed someone to remind me that it was okay to say the word ‘pain.’”

After its one-month Bandcamp exclusive, “Keep Me in Your Sight” will be released on all major streaming platforms.
